We met in Mendoza to travel together to the Uco Valley, more precisely to the Portinari shelter of the National Gendarmerie. It will be a two-hour trip over 130km. Once there, we will register for access and ascend to the crossing of the sand pit where we will stop to have a picnic lunch before heading to the base of Punta Negra hill where we will set up camp. Rest of the afternoon to enjoy the place, adapt to the altitude and rest for the next day.
After breakfast, we will move to the base of Punta Negra hill. From there we will begin the trekking by riding on the ridge from the West. We will advance at a calm pace, enjoying the increasingly open landscape. After reaching the summit from where we will have a beautiful view of the surrounding mountain range and Paso Portillo, we will take the opportunity to have lunch and return to the base to return to Mendoza.
