The Ansilta mountain range is located in the department of Calingasta, in the southwest of the province of San Juan. It consists of seven peaks between 5130 and 5886 meters above sea level. At least 221 glaciers are found on these peaks and in their surrounding areas.
Our goal is to ascend Peak 4 of the Ansilta mountain range, at 5,130 meters above sea level. Over the course of five days, we will travel through the Callingasta Valley, along the banks of the Arroyo Fiero. This area is of great archaeological, historical, and cultural value.
